Substrate preparation is the stage most flooring companies rush through. And the stage where most flooring failures begin. We don't treat it as a preliminary task. We treat it as the foundation of the entire installation.
Our preparation process includes diamond grinding to profile the surface, level checks to a 3mm-over-3-metre tolerance (to a professional engineered-timber tolerance), levelling compound application where required, and comprehensive moisture testing using calibrated meters. If the substrate isn't right, we don't proceed.
On existing sites, we can also handle removal of old flooring: timber, carpet, tile, and adhesive residue. Plus disposal, leaving a clean substrate ready for the next stage.
Preparation costs are estimated during quoting based on plans and site conditions, then confirmed after site survey. We communicate any variations before work begins, never after. Transparency in this stage builds the trust that carries through the rest of the project.
