Wide engineered oak plank flooring

The Foundation of Every Considered Home

Engineered plank flooring is at the core of what we do. Each board is a multi-layered system: a premium hardwood lamella bonded to a dimensionally stable substrate, designed for maximum performance without compromising on the warmth and character of solid timber.

We install exclusively using the direct stick trowel method, adhering each board individually to the prepared substrate with a 3-in-1 adhesive and moisture barrier. This isn't the fastest approach. It's the most precise. It eliminates hollow spots, prevents movement, and produces a floor that feels solid underfoot from day one.

Our timber is sourced from premium suppliers: Havwoods, Woodcut, and Royal Oak. Each project gets boards selected on species, grade, width, and finish. Board selection on site is deliberate: we read each plank for grain direction, colour variation, and natural character to create a floor that feels curated, not random.

The single most important decision in a plank installation is the set out. Before any board is glued, we establish the floor's primary direction, lock in a true datum line, and plan the layout against doorways, sightlines, and room proportions. The aim is a floor that reads continuously from one room to the next, with cuts falling where they belong and the longest, cleanest runs holding the eye. A floor that looks effortless on completion has been set out twice on paper before it was set out once on site.

Every installation begins with comprehensive substrate preparation: diamond grinding, levelling, and moisture testing to a professional standard. The quality of the surface below determines the quality of the floor above. We don't skip this step. It's where most flooring problems start, and where we prevent them.
