Timber staircases sit at the intersection of flooring and fine joinery. Treads, risers, nosings, winders, and feature steps — each component is measured, cut, and fitted individually to tolerances that most flooring companies don't attempt.
Our approach to staircases is methodical. Every tread is measured independently — no two are assumed identical. Nosing profiles are colour-matched to the tread timber. Risers are fitted first, then the tread and nosing as a single assembly, creating tight joints and clean shadow lines. Winder treads in curved or turning stairs require precise geometry and templating that only comes from experience.
We integrate staircase cladding with the surrounding floor installation so transitions between levels are seamless. The timber species, finish, and direction carry through from ground floor to first floor without interruption. The staircase becomes part of the floor, not an afterthought bolted onto it.
Staircase work is some of the most complex and rewarding work we do. It's also some of the most visible — every guest who walks through the front door sees the staircase. We treat it accordingly.
